My first reaction to the photos from Abbey Kyhl’s first look session with McCall and Cory in St. George, Utah, was one of being simply awestruck. McCall and Cory are truly gorgeous, McCall’s stunning blue eyes grabbed my attention immediately. Their classic but unique attire is nothing short of jaw-droppingly beautiful. These two did such an amazing job of choosing timeless pieces to wear, but what we adore is the striking, high-contrast, high definition cobalt color of Cory’s suit against McCall’s gorgeous and classic lace dress. And who can see past McCall’s glam statement earrings and peach ombre wedding shoes? To die for! Brace yourself for this stunning First Look session by Abbey Kyhl. This is sure to be one for the record books.
From the photographer, Cory didn’t want to do a first look. He thinks they are cheesy. The whole “her tapping him on the back” or the blindfold, he just wasn’t going to do it. But we talked him into at least turning around for a reveal. Nothing cheesy. And boy did he have the perfect reaction! So genuine. I know that he thinks McCall is gorgeous, but I don’t think he was prepared at all for how amazingly stunning she was going to be.
More from Abbey Kyhl, As their photographer, I was taken away by how gorgeous she was. Every detail was absolutely perfect. Hair and makeup by Julie Thomas Style could not have been more perfect to compliment her gorgeous jewels and amazing take your breath away wedding gown from Celebrate the Occasions.
Abbey Kyhl continued, And his look was just as amazing. A cobalt blue suit from Zara with all the perfect accessories looked straight out of a catalog. These two together were a dream come true, and to be able to capture their first look session was an amazing experience!
As a wedding planner I have had the “To do a First Look or not to do a First Look” discussion numerous times with clients. Personally, I think there is nothing nicer in our age of wild and ever-present technology and distractions than taking just a few moments truly alone with your future spouse just moments before your special day unfolds. Once the ceremony starts the day seems to fly by! Having a First Look does not take away or detract from the emotion of that moment when you walk down the aisle. At my wedding, I still walked down the aisle in tears, as did my husband (don’t tell him I told you), after our first look. A first look can be a very special moment where the world disappears and soon-to-be weds can just soak in the moment. Photos from this quiet part of the day are always incredible and filled with so many beautiful emotions. We are so pleased to feature this beautiful post about McCall and Cory’s First Look.
