This Ritz Carlton Philadelphia wedding is beyond chic! There is so much to and Tyler Boye Photography captured it all perfectly!
This stunning evening was created by Lauren James Events and features on my favorite centerpiece designs by Jamie Rothstein Floral Designs! I am in love with the mixed thin glass vases with just one stem of ivory orchids pouring out! It looks like a floral water fountain in the center of each table!
The Riverview Catering definitely made sure guests were treated to culinary delights throughout the evening while Van Earl’s Cakes gave them something sweet to remember with this gorgeous five tier detailed confection!
The bride looked absolutely stunning with flawless makeup and hair by James Matthews Salon and a stunning dress that had a beautiful moment all its own hanging in the sunlit window! It was decadent evening with beautiful details at every turn, did I mention the gorgeous chandelier? CinemaCake Filmakers were there to create a sweeping video of the entire affair!
This is the perfect way to end your week and begin another beautiful summer weekend! Make sure you hear all about how this couples love story all began and how this amazing night came to be at the end! Enjoy!
From Tyler Boye Photography, Hope and Nick met on January 10, 2009 in a most unusual place under less than ordinary circumstances. At the time, Nick was a Captain in the United States Marine Corps serving in Iraq, and Hope was also serving in Iraq as a civilian for the US Department of Defense (DOD). When they met, Nick was stationed on a remote US Army base near Mosul in Ninewah Province in the Northwest part of the country, and Hope was leading a group of business executives visiting Iraq to scope out potential business development opportunities in this specific region.
Nick was assigned to secure and escort Hope's group to the sites they wanted to assess and meet the Iraqi leaders in the area. The couple's connection was immediate upon shaking hands on the tarmac after Hope's long flight from Baghdad. It was all smiles, butterflies, and getting to know the many things they had in common for the few days they worked together on this mission. Before Hope's return to Baghdad there was an exchange of emails and a sense of certainty between them that they would see each other again.
After emailing back and forth for three months while Nick finished up his deployment in Iraq and while Hope continued to travel back and forth to Iraq for the DOD, they reunited in Alexandria, Virginia and began dating. Five and a half years later, with two more of Nick's deployments under their belts and many more trips to Iraq for Hope, the couple was still together and facing their next great adventure - Nick getting out of the Marines Corps and enrolling at Wharton Business School and Hope leaving behind her work in Washington, DC and the Middle East to start a life together in Philadelphia.
First things first however, Nick proposed on June 15, 2014 after dinner while walking along the National Mall in Washington. It was a beautiful night with the Washington Monument glowing in front of them, and an incredible moment after all the years and distance they had endured for Hope to see Nick get down on one knee and tell her "I would be so lucky if you would marry me." She thinks she said yes 20 times!
Hope and Nick moved to Philadelphia shortly after their engagement, making it their first home together after 6 years of dating. For this reason the City of Brotherly Love was decided on as the perfect wedding destination for Nick’s family from Iowa and Hope’s family from Virginia. When it came time to secure a venue for their big day, there was only one choice in their minds- The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia.
Residing in The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia Residences next door, they immediately knew they would select the hotel’s Grand Ballroom. Hope, being new to the area, also knew she needed a wedding planner to navigate her through the process and connect her to the best wedding professionals in the city. She enlisted the help of Lauren James Events and was on her way to planning her dream wedding. Hope is a professional fashion stylist by day and has an incredibly keen eye for detail. She is always dressed to perfection from head to toe. Just as in her day-to-day fashion where no detail is overlooked, her wedding day design was no exception and she ensured that she was very involved in every aspect. Selecting antique gold, blush pink, and ivory as her color palette was the first step in conceptualizing the perfect look for her vintage glam inspired wedding over Labor Day Weekend 2015.
Jamie Rothstein Floral Designs brought her vision to life. When it came time to select THE dress, Hope only enlisted the help and advice of her mother, a former Ford Model and stylist herself, the two have been shopping together since Hope was born. It couldn't be just any dress, it had to be spectacular and different from the traditional white or ivory gown.
Staying true to her lifelong love for any/every shade of pink, and her flare for glamour, Hope found her perfect match in a Monique Lhuillier gown with a light blush pink underlay and an intricate white tulle beaded overlay. She had her mom had all of Carine's Bridal Atelier in tears when she put it on and told the story of how she and Nick met - there was no question in anyone's mind that this was it!
