About Us & Our Team

Reverie Gallery was designed and developed as a resource for engaged couples to assist in choosing the best possible vendors for their personal style, as well as to bring wonderful weddings into the hands of the most skilled and talented vendors.  Our blog showcases the best and most beautiful weddings in every style from vintage, to classic, modern, exotic, and whimsical. Reverie Gallery was born through a mix of our truest passions: our love for family, our affection for beauty in design all around us, a devotion to meticulously planned and visually beautiful events, an affinity for representing businesses we believe in, and our personal dreams for a business with heart and soul.

Erica Powell

Why Reverie Gallery? Before I founded Reverie Gallery, I was the Founder and Creative Director of Ambiance Luxe Wedding Designs, a Wedding Planning Company headquartered in Greenwich, Connecticut. After planning a little under two hundred weddings, I founded Reverie Gallery to bring my passion for weddings to the next level. We created an Inspirational Blog for couples around the world showcasing weddings of every style from wild and funky, to modern, to classic and traditional, and vintage. If it’s stylish, well put together, and unique you can find it on our website. My passion is promoting the very best wedding vendors and helping couples to find a vendor who matches their personality. Our Vendor Boutique cleanly and beautifully shows off the best and most talented vendors available today. We can’t wait to release that part of our site shortly after our Blog launches. Our site is optimized for mobile use as well as on your computer, we have the very best technology available. We work on SEO in every post to have our posts easily found by couples searching for inspiration. Speaking of inspiration, I also continue to design several wedding shoots each year to push the envelope for wedding design! If you want to see my most recent projects and weddings, take a look at my personal portfolio website.

My Job: As the President of Reverie Gallery, I work on many facets of our business every day. I am always actively searching for the most talented wedding professionals to reach out to for Blog Submissions and to join our Vendor Boutique. From the administrative side of keeping our team together and our vision moving forward, to choosing stories to post, and thinking of the the big picture and what we will do  next, every day is different and my to do list is ever changing! I love what I do! I love being collaborative with our team, coming up with ideas for blog posts, and looking through vendor websites for the perfect inspiration. My favorite thing to do is to find unique features that are going to appeal to unique couples, and showcasing a diversity of styles that are all beautifully executed.

Favorite part of my job: My favorite part of my job has changed since we launched! While I love working on finding the most beautiful content for our blog to inspire couples in their wedding design, through the process of launching Reverie Gallery I have been asked to speak to wedding professionals around the country and provide education to help creatives grow their businesses. I am so passionate about this! I’m thrilled to have been chosen as a Brand Camp speaker for May of 2015, and a Learn Elite teacher for December of 2015. Happy to share new projects as they come along! Stay tuned on our social media to stay in the loop.

School: Trinity College and Keene State College. I graduated with a degree in Business Management, but that was only after switching from Theater & Music majors. My college career was certainly not a straight trajectory or a quick accomplishment, but I am so glad I had the opportunity to study theater, film, web design, music, and dance before settling on Business Management. I learned so much and I’m so glad I took the time to enjoy my education.

Design Taste: My personal design taste is a mixture of a bunch of styles: clean, classic, and luxe with a little vintage, a little rustic, and a sense of whimsy. My favorite color is turquoise and all variations of it. It makes me feel calm and happy and fresh all at once. When decorating my house, I like a lot of neutrals and natural elements mixed with some glam and bling here and there. Our wedding was a really good indicator of my style, and Jonathan had a huge say in the design too, it was the perfect mixture of us and I loved everything about it!

What does love mean to me? Love means supporting your soul mate through anything that comes your way, but also I think it takes time and effort to truly love, to give your heart to another person, to think of them and what they like or want or need, to plan the perfect date, to support each other when times are tough, but all of that effort brings joy and happiness when things come together, and when you feel like you’re the only two people in the world at that moment, that have a secret and a connection that nobody else can understand. As Shakespeare wrote “The course of true love never did run smooth.” And another one from Shakespeare that speaks to me “A friend is one that knows you as you are, understands where you have been, accepts what you have become, and still, gently allows you to grow.” I believe in love and I believe in romance and flowers and twinkling stars and fireworks and butterflies. You just have to look for it and when you have it, treat it carefully and kindly and treasure your soul mate because if you have found yours, you’re a lucky person!

My Love: My true loves are my husband, our daughter, our furbabies, my family and friends, Reverie Gallery and our team! These loves keep me running every day even when I’m on empty.

Kids: My little princess, Brynnleigh, is the best thing that has happened to me other than my husband. She is smart and sweet and will turn two years old September 1, 2014. She is talking up a storm, loving swimming this summer, and her favorite places to go are to ride the carousel, visit the zoo, or go the park. I couldn’t have chosen a more perfect baby. She is the light of our lives.

Pets: We have an 11 year old American Eskimo, a 7 year old Papillion, and a Doberman puppy. We also have a demure cat Bijou.

Where I have lived: Greenwich, Manchester, Hartford, and Clinton Connecticut, Keene New Hampshire, Skaneateles and Auburn in New York.

Traveled: Lake George, Nantucket, Cape Cod, Palm Springs California, the Outer Banks of North Carolina, Florida, Palm Springs California, Houston and Dallas Texas, Montreal, Cayman Islands, St. Martin, Turks & Caicos, Spain, France, and Italy.

Favorite moments of a wedding: My favorite moment of my wedding was walking back down the aisle holding hands with my husband after we had just tied the knot. It was glorious and euphoric! My favorite moments as a wedding planner were talking to my brides and grooms in a hushed voice just before they walked down the aisle, waiting with my couples as they were just about to get called into the reception during introductions, and showing my couples (and sometimes an excited mother of the bride here or there) their wedding reception design in it’s full splendor before the guests got to see! OH and after the wedding? The best part is seeing the wedding photos and reliving the entire day again!

Flowers: Peonies, tulips, and white lilacs. I am a spring flower girl, and I LOVE the elegance of all white flowers.

Coffee or Tea? I have a perfect drink for every time of day. I love to start my day with a caramel coffee or latte, and in the afternoon or evening if I need a little zip, my favorite is Jasmine tea with milk & sugar. If I need a warm afternoon or evening mug to hold between my hands without caffeine it’s time for a steamed milk with a fun flavor like honey or raspberry.

Favorite Food: For breakfast it’s got to be berries and honey yogurt, lunch and dinner I love summer rolls with either avocado or chicken, lettuce wraps with peanut sauce, a good burrito, Vietnamese lemongrass chicken, Pad Thai, crème brulee, and cheesecake for dessert!

However, my overall favorite thing by far is working with a team, and being a part of something I know is going to be amazing.

Although those areas are what I originally felt most drawn to, I am continuously surprised with how much I have enjoyed pursuing additional interests in the last couple years, in particular; wedding design!

Traveled: I’ve had the opportunity to travel throughout North America and Canada but I’ve not yet had the opportunity to see many of the places I’d like to see. I would like travel the world before starting a family, and eventually share similar experiences as a family down the road.

Favorite moments of a wedding: I love watching the groom and his reaction as his future spouse walks down be aisle. I know a lot of people share this favorite moment with me.  How can you not?  It’s so magical! I also really enjoy the party that follows the ceremony! Everything from the couple’s first dance to the father-daughter dance to everyone on the dance floor!

Flowers: I am constantly finding new flowers I love. A few of my recent favorites are; Hydrangeas, Snapdragons, and Orchids.

Coffee or Tea: Both!

Favorite Food: I love food. Sometimes I need a little push to try new foods but more often than not, I like what I try.

Other Fun Facts: I really enjoy spending time with my friends and family.I like to be active, especially outdoors, but value my downtime and try to take time to relax on a regular basis, specifically with my dog Luna!

Our World

Wonderful Place
Erica grew up in Connecticut and built her Wedding Planning business there which is how she met Janna, Liz, and Danielle. Erica loves the shoreline of Connecticut, eating Lobster Rolls, and her office in Greenwich. Janna went to college in Hartford and moved to the shoreline in 2007. She enjoys living on the water and the easy train ride into New York City!
Roatan, Honduras
Janna honeymooned with her husband on the Honduran Bay Island of Roatan. Janna enjoyed snorkeling the reefs that the small, quiet island is best known for.
PCH California
Janna and her husband took a road trip from Santa Cruz to Santa Barbara on the scenic Pacific Coast highway. She was in awe of the stunning views and unspoiled coastline (and recommends the drive to EVERYONE!)
Skaneateles, New York
Erica lives in the small, historic town of Skaneateles in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. In the summer, the town is busy with tourists enjoying the wineries and beautiful lakes. In the winter, the town is quiet and sleepy but festive under a thick blanket of snow.
Mediterranean Sea
Erica spent her honeymoon with her husband on a cruise throughout the Mediterranean visiting Barcelona, Marseille, Monaco, Monte Carlo, Tuscany, Rome, Naples, and Capri. They loved every minute of it!
Janna was born and raised in central Massachusetts. She spent summers on Martha\'s Vineyard and loves Boston sports!
